Painting Over Steel Siding

Since any of this is clearly bad for your metal siding it is vital that you re paint your metal siding.

As long as the siding is clean you won t need to use a primer unless raw metal is exposed.

Cleaning of the surface can be done by hand washing with warm soapy water or with the use of a high pressure washer 2500 psi minimum. Paint the steel siding panels using the sprayer. Finally since metal is such a good heat absorber avoid painting siding while it s getting direct sunlight. There is a great alternative to re painting your metal siding.

The first sign that this is beginning to happen is a loss of the glossy look that new siding has.
